Everybody, at least once in his life, has heard of sunglasses with polarized lenses, but how many knows what does it mean?
The polarization is only a reduction of the light reverb. Not clear yet? I will try to explain it better…
The polarized lenses have the capacity to catch better the light, reducing the annoyng reflections.
This is possible thanks to the construction of the polarized lens, made by a series of parallel stripes spaced according to the wavelength of light.
Each strip only lets pass the waves which have its own wavelength; this allows to segmentate the light and catch every single detail.
In summary, the polarized lenses delete the reflections, giving you a better contrast, a right perception of the colors and a more relaxed vision.
When is necessary to wear a pair of polarized sunglasses?
The answer is easy.
A polarized lens gives you a clearer vision in all light conditions, so you can use it to drive and also for everyday life. But you absolutely can’t help it when you practice outdoor sports!
In most outdoor sports (running, cycling, fishing…) light conditions influence the preformance, and for this reason it is important to have a perfect perception of what we have all around.
There are many kind and colors of polarized lenses, all designed for different light conditions.
For example, the brown polarized lenses are perfect in all situations, from the sunrise to the sunset.
The grey ones are good in conditions of intense light, this lenses permit to mantain a clear vision also with direct light. The green, indeed, works better when the sky is cloudy.
In conclusion, if you want to have a better idea of the polarized effect, take a look to the picture below:
As you can see in the second picture, where the light is polarized, details appear clearer and the reverb has been eliminated.
